HOUSTON, June 3, 2008 – The superstars of Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling are strong, powerful, popular … and politically savvy. Yep, four TNA Wrestling stars have stepped to the plate in the 2008 U.S. Presidential race. Houston-based TRISTAR Productions and TNA Wrestling are showing a different side to some of the organization’s well-known wrestling stars in the all-new “TNA iMPACT” trading card set, releasing on June 6. “iMPACT!” is TRISTAR’s inaugural TNA release after being selected by TNA as its exclusive licensee of TNA trading cards and memorabilia. The politically-minded foursome, including former World Champions Kevin Nash and Booker T., volunteered to indicate the presidential candidate each is endorsing in this year’s presidential election by signing a special inscription with a limited number of their autographs.

endorsement inscriptions include: Each of these TNA stars indicated that he had specific reasons for endorsing his selected candidate and felt this was a great opportunity to let others know who he wants to be the country’s next President. “I am endorsing Barack Obama in his bid to become the next President of the United States, and wanted to take this opportunity to let wrestling fans, card collectors and others know who I’m supporting,” said Kevin Nash. “Adding the ‘Obama 08’ inscription to a limited number of my autographs not only allows me to share my view, but it also shows people that wrestlers do follow politics and have opinions on current events. “And, if publicly supporting Obama gets me an invitation to the White House down the road, I’d be honored to pay him a visit.” TRISTAR confirmed that the presidential endorsement autograph inscriptions were signed in extremely limited quantities, and a chase for them is expected among collectors. “Autograph inscriptions are extremely popular in today’s trading card market,” said TRISTAR vice president Mandy Fuerst. “In ‘TNA iMPACT’, we expect collectors to seek the special, inscribed autograph cards like Kurt Angle – '12X World Champ', Scott Steiner – 'Big Poppa Pump' and Gail Kim '1st Knockouts Champ'.
